Community Outreach

Social outreach through volunteering is the work we do together to make individual and community lives better in our own neighborhoods and beyond. Our volunteer outreach programs and ministries both reflect and inform Grace’s commitment to social justice.

Serve Breakfast with GLIDE

Every other Tuesday morning from 6:30 am-9:00 am we have regular volunteers helps serve breakfast at GLIDE. Volunteers assist with everything from plating food and sanitizing the workspace to handing out boxed meals, silverware, and drinks from behind plexiglass shields.

Bayview Mission

Bayview Mission is a Special Mission of the Episcopal Diocese of California with strong support from Grace Cathedral. It provides much-needed services, food, and supplies to residents of the Bayview/Hunters Point neighborhoods.

Fill-A-Need

When the stay-at-home order initially went into place we sewed cotton face masks for distribution to those who needed them at no cost.

Dinner with Grace

We serve our community with volunteer-prepared healthy meals shared with individuals transitioning out of being unhoused.

Jail Ministry

Grace Cathedral’s jail ministry has visited men and women incarcerated in San Francisco County’s jails for years, offering the opportunity for group prayer and for parents to remain connected with their children while imprisoned.

Stitching Ministry

Join us as we lovingly hand-knit or crochet items given to those in need of warmth and care.
