Social Outreach and Volunteering

There are many volunteer opportunities at Grace Cathedral.

Volunteering takes many forms at Grace. The support of volunteers enables us to deliver unique programs, services, events, and tours to visitors. With varying time commitments and responsibilities, these opportunities allow you bring Grace to life and be a part of events and programs in a deeper way.

Social outreach through volunteering is the work we do together to make individual and community lives better in our own neighborhoods and beyond. We serve people in need regardless of their creed, nationality, or sexual orientation, and we welcome volunteers on the same basis.  Our volunteer outreach programs and ministries both reflect and inform Grace’s commitment to social justice. Join us to make individual and community lives better here, in our own neighborhoods, and beyond.

Event and Concert Volunteers

Event and concert volunteers are essential to keeping our arts & culture calendar full of diverse and exciting programming.

As a volunteer, you might help with set up, check in, and ushering.  Times will vary depending on the venue. Interested volunteers should sign up and note the venue desired. An associate will contact you with detailed information.

Dinner with Grace

We serve our community with volunteer-prepared healthy meals shared with individuals transitioning out of being unhoused.

Serve Breakfast with GLIDE

We are seeking volunteers to join us in helping to serve breakfast at GLIDE every third Thursday from 7 am to 9 am. Volunteers assist with everything from plating food and sanitizing the workspace to handing out boxed meals, silverware, and drinks.

Tour Guides/Docent Guild

The volunteer docents give tours of Grace Cathedral to visitors and groups. Training will be provided on the three types of one-hour tours that we offer. We request a commitment to give at least two tours each month after you are trained. If you are comfortable speaking to groups, are able to learn our suggested talking points, and share our interest in showing visitors the wonders of Grace Cathedral, contact us!

New docent orientations are offered regularly throughout the year.
