The Vine with Guest Preacher Jay Hulme (In-Person)

November 15, 2023 @ 6:10 pm - 7:00 pm

Jay Hulme at The Vine Plus a Reading

The Vine is a contemporary worship experience with a sermon, communion, and band-led songs of praise. Tonight, we are thrilled to welcome special guest preacher Jay Hulme. Jay is a poet, speaker, and theologian from Leicester in the UK. As one of the UK’s foremost transgender theologians, Jay regularly speaks and preaches at churches, cathedrals, and theological conferences.

Immediately following The Vine, please stay for a reading by Jay and the opportunity for conversation afterward.

More about Jay Hulme

His books for children have been nominated for some of the UK’s oldest and most prestigious writing and illustration awards. His books for adults are published by one of the UK’s leading Christian publishers and are widely reviewed and praised, with his poem ‘Jesus at the Gay Bar’ becoming an international sensation. When he isn’t writing, speaking, or caring for the 1144 year old church where he serves as Churchwarden, Jay enjoys exploring (and climbing up) the ancient churches and cathedrals that litter the British landscape, finding inspiration in their beauty, and in the faith which has been practiced there for centuries.

Event Details

Doors open for seating at 6 p.m. The entrance to the cathedral is at the top of the Great Steps. The accessible entrance is via the glass doors on Taylor Street or from the cathedral garage. Masks are strongly encouraged inside the cathedral.
