Ordination and Consecration of The Rev. Austin Keith Rios as Bishop Coadjutor of the Diocese of California (In-Person and Livestream)

May 4 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Celebrate with joy as we ordain and consecrate the Rev. Austin Keith Rios as Bishop Coadjutor of the Diocese of California. Rios will serve concurrently with the Right Rev. Dr. Marc Handley Andrus as Coadjutor until Andrus’ retirement in July 2024, when Rios will become the Ninth Bishop of the Diocese of California.

All plans for seating and liturgical participants were made based on registrations received by April 12.  If you have registered to attend in person, please plan to be seated no later than 10:25 am. The next opportunity to be seated in the cathedral will be after all the processions have made their way to the front of the nave, approximately 11:20 am. If you did not register, you can still take part. Come to the cathedral and see if there are seats available at 11:20 am, or gather on the plaza at 11:20 am, where the liturgy will be live-streamed and communion shared.

This page contains information about rehearsals, vesting and processing, and general FAQ’s for liturgical participants.

Please note: We can only accept individual registrations. Each attendee, including children, must be registered separately using this form. The primary purpose of this form is to plan for seating and hospitality, including volunteer support for each.

When the online version of the service leaflet becomes available, you can view it here.
