Choral Evensong (In-Person and Livestream)
January 18, 2024 @ 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm
We welcome back the boys of the choir from their Winter Break, to resume the regular round of choral services. During December the boys sang beautifully for 5 sold-out concerts as well as the many extra services of Advent and Christmas. At Evensong this week they will sing Trevor Weston’s anthem “Rivers of Living Water,” as well as music by Jessica French and Herbert Brewer. Last year the boys had a special visit from Dr. Weston and a chance to rehearse this piece with him.
Evensong is a service traditionally held near sunset focused on singing psalms, canticles, and prayers, ranging from meditative to jubilant. The Grace Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys sings during our Choral Evensong with an officiant. Join us at this mid-week choral service and experience one of the most beautiful liturgies in the Anglican tradition. (45 minutes)
Event Details
The entrance to the cathedral is at the top of the Great Steps. The accessible entrance is via the glass doors on Taylor Street or from the cathedral garage. Masks are strongly encouraged inside the cathedral.
