2023 World Labyrinth Day

May 6, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

Every year, on the first Saturday in May, thousands of people around the globe participate in World Labyrinth Day as a moving meditation for world peace and a celebration of the labyrinth experience.

Did you know that the modern-day labyrinth movement started at Grace Cathedral? Today, there are thousands of labyrinths worldwide.

“Walk as One at One” local times to create a rolling wave of peaceful energy passing from one time zone to the next, and there are additional ways to participate. Grace Cathedral is proud to host World Labyrinth Day this year. Join us from noon to 2 pm to walk our outdoor labyrinths, accompanied by live music by Destiny Muhammad. Volunteers from Veriditas.org will be on-site to deliver educational sessions on the power of labyrinths, facilitate journaling activities and provide finger labyrinth-making classes.

This year, in honor of World Labyrinth Day, we are fortunate to have two experts in the field of Labyrinth Activism join us on World Labyrinth Day. The Legacy Labyrinth Project, in collaboration with Veriditas, hosted at Grace Cathedral, bringing together a Workshop on May 5 on what Labyrinth Activism is and how to use this powerful practice for peaceful change. They will stay to offer education and participate with us on World Labyrinth day. Labyrinth activism is walking in heart coherence, with a shared focused intention for change or healing. It is most effective for groups where they learn to share in this sacred experience to cultivate a sense of connectedness and insight. This is a great free group outing!
