The Fill-A-Need team is seeking volunteers to join us in a mask-making initiative. Several of us have dusted off our sewing machines and started making cotton face masks to donate while we are staying at home during this challenging time. That’s a good thing — the virus news indicates the demand for them is going to be ongoing for now, and with regular use, it is handy to have more than one.
Recipients include: individuals in our community including congregants and neighbors; those we serve in our ministries including Seniors with Grace and SRO (single residence occupancy) residents served by Dinner with Grace; and other philanthropic/civic groups in need and not in a financial position to purchase masks.
If you (or someone you know) is in need of a mask, OR if you can sew a few for others, please let us know. There are several ministries and organizations our stitchers are supporting by supplying fabric masks, and it sounds like we are going to be needing them for some time to come.
