Treasures of Grace: An Illustrated Lecture

Please join Grace Trustee and architectural historian Bridget Maley for an illustrated lecture on the murals, stained glass, and other art treasures of Grace Cathedral. Bridget will highlight the significant works that reflect the various eras of construction of Grace Cathedral. She will focus on the work of muralist Jan De Rosen, the stained glass studios of Connick, Willet, and Loire, and several inspirational pieces by influential artists. Following Bridget’s lecture there will be an opportunity for a brief tour of some of the highlighted Cathedral works.
Bridget is the owner of architecture + history, llc (a + h) an architectural history and historic preservation consulting firm. Bridget has participated in award-winning projects throughout San Francisco and the West, including Golden Gate Park’s Conservatory of Flowers, design guidelines for Historic Downtown Los Angeles, and numerous projects involving significant buildings in our National Parks. Bridget has served as President of the San Francisco Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board and is a former board member of the Chicago-based Society of Architectural Historians.

Advance registration is recommended as space is limited.
The talk will be held in the Chapter Room, across the courtyard from the cathedral (to the right of the main entrance). The accessible entrance is via the glass doors on Taylor Street or from the cathedral garage, down the Crypt hallway, up the elevator, and to the left as you exit the cathedral.
