Whiffenpoofs

114 years after their founding, The Yale Whiffenpoofs return to Grace Cathedral, singing a mix of classic and contemporary favorites! The Whiffenpoofs, America’s oldest a cappella group, entertain audiences around the globe with their diverse repertoire of vocal jazz, folk, pop, and Broadway hits. Choice selections include “Anything Goes,” by Whiffenpoof alum Cole Porter, “Midnight Train to Georgia,” by Gladys Knight & the Pips, and “I’m Gonna Find Another You,” by John Mayer. Whiffenpoofs of years past have sung for Presidents Obama, Bush (41 and 43), Clinton, and Reagan, and at venues including Carnegie Hall, Broadway’s Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. In recent years, they have also featured on television shows such as “The Sing Off,” “The West Wing,” and “Glee.”

Doox of Yale

Founded in 1952, “The Duke’s Men of Yale” has evolved from a little-known quartet of first-years into “Doox of Yale”, one of the most respected collegiate a cappella singing groups in the country. Performing a diverse repertoire in an incredible variety of venues, both domestically and internationally, “Da Doox” charm presidents and preschoolers alike. The group now boasts a passionate and supportive alumni base of more than 400 singers. Notable recent appearances include performances at the Steinway Club of Puerto Rico, for Drew Barrymore and Jill Kargman in Manhattan, weddings at Oheka Castle on Long Island, at venues across Thessaloniki and Athens, Greece, on Yale’s campus for Stacey Abrams and John Kerry, and in grandma’s home videos. In 2009, Doox of Yale, known at the time as The Duke’s Men, was named one of the nation’s top 5 male a cappella groups by the Contemporary A Cappella Society of America. The group has also placed in the top 4 at the International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). In keeping with their goal to create music that reflects their community, “Da Doox” invited all singers, regardless of sex or gender identity, to audition for the group in 2017. In 2018, the group’s name was changed to reflect their all-gender membership: Doox of Yale. Learn more about us at dooxofyale.com, and find them on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube!
