Event Series Event Series: The Feast of St. Francis

The Feast of St. Francis Choral Eucharist (In-Person and Livestream)

October 6 @ 11:00 am - 12:15 pm

On the Feast of St. Francis, the Cathedral Choir will be joined by the Choir of St. Paul’s, Burlingame, and their director, Dr. Susan Jane Matthews. The combined choirs will sing Mozart’s “Sparrow Mass,” as well as anthems by Benjamin Britten and Katherine Davis honoring the Feast of St. Francis.

Bring your finned, feathered, and fluffy friends to the plaza for a special blessing as a token of the love St. Francis showed for all beings. Special pet tags will be available for all friends that are blessed. Pets must be on a leash or in a secure carrier and are welcome at all Sunday services at 8:30 am, 11 am, and 6 pm.

Blessings of individual pets to follow each service on the plazaThis year, youth are also encouraged to bring their stuffed animals for a blessing on the plaza as well!

Make a gift in honor or memory of beloved pets. Gift tributes received by October 2 will be included in the Blessing of the Animals on October 6. Your pet’s name will be featured on the pet tribute page in the service leaflet and online.

Join us online for a livestream broadcast of our 11 am Choral Eucharist service. The stream will appear below beginning at 10:45 am.

The entrance to the cathedral is at the top of the Great Steps. The accessible entrance is via the glass doors on Taylor Street or from the cathedral garage. Masks are strongly encouraged inside the cathedral.
