REFLECTIONS presents a transcendent evening with new age legend Laraaji and composer Sam Prekop (of The Sea & Cake) on live analog electronics, performing together for the first time as a visionary duo.
Over the evening you’ll experience solo sets from Sam and Laraaji, followed by an improvised collaboration. Join us for this historic encounter between two icons of ethereal sound – a segue between earth and sky, organic and electronic – under an immersive light show at gorgeous Grace Cathedral. Co-presented with Synth News and Eternal Now.

The cathedral will open for seating at 7 pm. Enter the cathedral through the door at the top of the Great Steps, facing Taylor Street. The accessible entrance is via the glass doors on Taylor Street, to the left of the parking garage entrance. Turn left down the hallway and follow the signs to the elevator.

About the Artists
Laraaji is an ambient pioneer, new age trailblazer, street musician, serial collaborator, zither-player extraordinaire, sound healer and teacher of laughter meditation. His uniquely spiritual music has been soothing, entrancing and transporting his listeners to another place for more than 40 years.
Sam Prekop is a Chicago-based musician and visual artist. For more than 25 years, as a solo performer or as part of The Sea and Cake, Prekop creates a singular sound, inventive and warm. His distinctive vocals, guitar playing and work on modular analog synthesizers are inventive, delicate, and always bear his signature sense of melody.
REFLECTIONS is a deep listening event series, founded in 2023. It presents legends of new age/ambient/experimental music with projection-mapped visuals, uniting sound, light, and sacred architecture for a singularly visceral experience.
