Choral Eucharist with Guest Preacher the Rev. Donald Schell (In-Person and Livestream)
July 7 @ 11:00 am - 12:15 pm
The cathedral’s principal Eucharist, with anthems and service music sung by the Cathedral Choir. (60–75 minutes)
The Rev. Donald Schell: After a diaconal year in Louisiana, four years chaplaincy at Episcopal Church at Yale, and four years as a mission vicar in Idaho, in 1980, Donald joined Rick Fabian co-founding St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church, where they led the church-wide movement of welcoming all to communion. In 1995 Donald directed the architectural and liturgical design for St. Gregory’s new church that won A.I.A.’s Best Religious Building of the Year award. From 2005, Donald stretched St. Gregory’s rich congregational singing and dance traditions, gathering adventurous musicians to recover, lead, and teach oral tradition singing in Music that Makes Community.
