Gathering to Grow in Community: Book Discussion
June 16 @ 12:45 pm - 2:00 pm
In response to the popular book discussion on Vivek Murthy’s book, “Together: The Healing Power of Human Connection in a Sometimes Lonely World,” a second book discussion is offered as a follow up.
Richard Compean will be leading a discussion of David Brooks’ book, “How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen.”
While we acknowledge the loneliness experienced by so many, Brooks reinforces the need to reach out and connect with people all around us who feel invisible, unseen, and misunderstood. “How to Know a Person” guides us toward becoming more understanding and considerate toward others, and finding the joy that comes from both being seen and seeing.
This is a book discussion for anyone seeking meaningful connections. Join the book discussion on Sunday, June 16 and Sunday, June 23, from 12:45 – 2 pm in the Chapter Room. A light lunch will be available. Contact Joanne Compean at joannejcompean@gmail.com to register.
