Evening Eucharist Honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Ordination of Women (In-Person and Livestream)
July 28, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Gather to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Ordination of Women in The Episcopal Church. The readings for the day are taken from the Feast of St. Mary Magdalene, first witness to the resurrection. We are delighted to welcome guest preacher the Rev. Dr. Ruth Meyers, tbe Hodges-Haynes Professor of Liturgics at Church Divinity School of the Pacific. A leading liturgical scholar in The Episcopal Church, Meyers has advocated tirelessly for gender equity and justice in the church and beyond.
We are joined by our mixed-voice choir, the Cathedral Singers, with the Rev. Canon Anna E. Rossi, Canon Precentor and Director of Interfaith Engagement, presiding.
Clergy of the diocese are welcome and encouraged to arrive at 5:30 p.m. and join an incoming procession, vested in alb and white stole.
This service is part of Grace Cathedral’s weeklong celebration of the 50th Ordination of Women.
