Do I need to be Christian to attend the class?
Absolutely not. While the practice takes place in a stunning Episcopal cathedral, people of all faiths attend. On any given night you are likely to practice alongside Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, atheists and agnostics as well as people from almost every Christian denomination. Yoga on the Labyrinth is an opportunity for people of every persuasion to gather in a spiritual but decidedly non-religious community. Only a personal desire to quiet the mind, open the heart and heal the body is needed.
What about Covid 19 protocols?
We are following CDC, SF Department of Public Health and Diocesan guidelines and directives for the safety of our Yoga community and staff. Proof of vaccinations are required and social distancing and masks indoors will be enforced.
How much does it cost to practice?
Yoga at Grace Cathedral is brought to the community through the underwriting support of Grace Cathedral and through fees received by participants like you.
We purposely have kept our fees lower than the market rate in order to make Yoga affordable to as many Yogis as possible. We also know that our yoga community is kind and giving so we also offer other 3 different fees as options to participate.
$15 – Downward Dog. This supports Grace Cathedral underwriting of Yoga at Grace Cathedral.
$20 – Warrior Pose. Collectively, this supports our ability to offer yoga for those in need.
$50 – Lotus Pose. This will help with the underwriting support offered through Grace Cathedral and continue to offer yoga for those in need.
Can tickets be purchased at the door?
We encourage everyone to register and purchase their tickets in advance as we do tend to sell out. However, we do have the ability to sell tickets at the door.
Can you accommodate groups?
We would be happy to support your group event, whether it is setting a special section aside so you can all practice together or buying multiple passes at once? Please email [email protected] with your request at least 1 month in advance so we can support you. Minimum numbers will apply.
How much experience do I need?
This class caters to every yogi at any level. New students as well as those that have been practicing for a while are welcome to attend. Because this class is gentle, it is particularly suited for newer students and those with physical limitations, but more experienced yogis enjoy the practice as well. All students are encouraged to modify their practice to suit their unique needs and more advanced students are always welcome to do more.
Do you provide yoga mats and props?
We do not provide yoga mats or props. Please be prepared to bring your own yoga mat. In addition to a yoga mat, many people also like to bring their own yoga props such as a strap and a block to support them in their practice.
