Grace Cathedral has a lively community of seniors who contribute enormously to the life of the cathedral. While seniors are part of all our ministries, we are also home to a dedicated ministry to seniors, Seniors with Grace.
With the cathedral closed and San Francisco focused on community health, we have a unique opportunity to experience community, faith and one another in new ways. We invite you to stay connected with Grace through our online events, blog and social media.
We are looking to expand our work with seniors by providing more community opportunities and especially in focusing on the particular needs of LGBTQ seniors. Grace provides advocacy for seniors in care and financial support in a limited number of individual cases. For more information on our ministry to seniors, please contact the Rev. Mary Carter Greene, Minister for Congregational Life, at [email protected] or 415-749-6369.
Enjoy a continental breakfast with us at 9:30 a.m., followed by Bible study (optional social hour) and then a presentation. At 12:10 p.m., we gather for Holy Eucharist in the Chapel of Grace and then return to the Dining Room for a catered luncheon. We conclude our day with the sharing of senior grocery care bags.
Health and Wellness
Our programs include a health and wellness component, and trained medical staff are on hand to provide basic assessment for seniors. From time to time, we also host health-specific events. See photos from our 2018 health fair.
