Grace Cathedral is proud of our history of LGBT acceptance and advocacy. We have celebrated same-sex marriages for more than 10 years and stood with the LGBT community to call for marriage equality in recent years. Join in celebrating the LGBT community and the values of diversity and inclusiveness.

49 Farolitos: Art Installation
Saturday, June 9 through Sunday, June 24

This installation by James Nocito pays tribute to the forty-nine people murdered in the Orlando nightclub shooting on June 12, 2016. Nocito’s simple and dignified portraits are a moving reminder of this tragic loss and also, a reminder that love is stronger than hate.

Chorale Workshop Series with Holcombe Waller
Tuesday, June 12 and Thursday, June 14 at  7 – 9:30 pm

In November, the cathedral is partnering with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to present Requiem Mass: A Queer Divine Rite. Singers of all abilities are invited to attend a series of choral workshops, continuing through August, with composer Holcombe Waller. Singers who attend are encouraged to participate in November performances of the Requiem.

Special Pride Mass at St. Cyprian’s
Sunday, June 17 at 10 am

We’re celebrating Pride Month with a special Equality & Justice Pride Mass. Oasis California President the Rev. Tom Jackson will preach, Deacon Diana Wheeler will share her thoughts on allyship and Sister Mary Timothy Simplicity, SPI, will reflect on why allies in the church are important to the queer community.

Sister Act Sing-along Pride Mass
Wednesday, June 20 at 6:30 pm

We’re lifting up the voices of those in the LGBTQ community with a fun, powerful and unforgettable evening hosted by The Vine, Grace Cathedral’s fresh take on Christianity, combining progressive worship, contemporary values and new connections.
