Our community provides support to one another, as we walk together through life’s ups and downs and especially in times of crisis, illness, or grief. We are here for you and for each other.
There are many ways you can get and offer support in difficult times. See below for how to request prayers, contact a member of the clergy, participate in a healing service and more.
When you need support from us
You can request prayers for yourself or someone else using the form below.
You can request that someone visit you or someone else in need at home or in the hospital and bring Communion if you wish, by e-mailing us or calling the cathedral’s main number. (Please make sure the other person knows you’re contacting us, when it’s on someone else’s behalf).
You can request to speak with a member of the clergy for pastoral care. Our clergy want to have the chance to be helpful to anyone who is in the hospital, having health problems, experiencing grief or otherwise in a time of crisis. In a pastoral emergency please call the cathedral’s main telephone number, 415-749-6300. There will be a prompt for connecting with our clergy member on call. If you do not hear the prompt the first time through, press 9 to replay the welcome message.
During the 11 a.m. Eucharist on Sundays, you are also invited to individual prayer with our Healing Ministers in the AIDS Interfaith Memorial Chapel.
When you wish to support others
You can pray for others, with your own prayers or some of our favorite prayers for difficult times. You can join a ministry that provides support to others, such as becoming a Eucharistic Visitor or Healing Minister.
Form to Request Prayer
Please submit the form below to request prayers. Be assured your submission will be treated with the utmost confidence. Your first name will be added to the prayers of the people and we will pray for you during the Daily Office of Morning and Evening Prayer.
