Pianist Adam Tendler with special guests Prism Percussion and violinist Helen Kim respond to Jim Hodges’ Unearthed with works of protest and meditation by John Cage, Joan La Barbara, Arvo Pärt, James MacMillan and featuring Frederic Rzewski’s epic solo for speaking pianist, De Profundis, based on Oscar Wilde’s letter from prison.

Performers

Adam Tendler is a New York based pianist and author, and a 2019 recipient of the Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists.

Helen Kim is a premier interpreter and eager advocate of adventurous violin repertoire. Equally committed to performing and teaching, she is a member of the San Francisco Symphony.

Prism Percussion is a San Francisco-based percussion duo that focuses on performing underrepresented composers and introducing nonstandard instrumentation into the percussion repertory.
