The Interfaith Winter Shelter is sponsored by the San Francisco Interfaith Council and run by Episcopal Community Services. The Interfaith Shelter provides dinner, breakfast and a dry place to sleep for those experiencing homelessness during the coldest and wettest time of the year. Grace Cathedral cooperates with many other congregations in San Francisco in this important endeavor. Together we can make a difference for those in our community experiencing homelessness.
To our valued Interfaith Winter Shelter supporters and volunteers, we’d like to please share this update excerpt from the San Francisco Interfaith Council about this year’s program and how it has evolved due to the continuing crisis:
The Interfaith Winter Shelter will be very different this coming season. There will only be one host site location at St. Mary’s Cathedral and all the meals will be provided by the CHEFS Program of Episcopal Community Services because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and all of the associated restrictions.
We are so appreciative of your ongoing and steadfast support in providing meals to the Interfaith Winter Shelter over the years and we hope we will all be in a better place next season and can return to having your congregations/organizations prepare and serve the meals once again. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Blessings for a Happy, Safe and Healthy Holiday Season,
SFIC
