TILT: A Celebration of Light and Music on the Summer Solstice

June 20 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

TILT is a different angle on music, an intimate concert in celebration of light, taking place in the marvelous ambiance of Grace Cathedral on the longest day of the year.

We begin the evening with The Warm Up, a reception with summery spritzers and canapés accompanied by the exuberant fusion of global rhythms and soulful improvisation performed by internationally recognized Wobbly World.

As the sunlight fades from the glittering stained glass windows, revel in gorgeous songs of diverse genres performed by celebrated soloist Leah Crocetto and pianist and producer Ronny Michael Greenberg. Ronny’s virtuosic talents have graced the stages of esteemed venues across the globe, and Leah, whose voice blends finesse, depth, and emotional clarity, brings authenticity and brilliance to every stage she graces. The repertoire and the performance will be simply unmatched.

We’ll be bringing the sunset indoors courtesy of Mad Alchemy, a company that has been mesmerizing audiences with its Analog Liquid Light Show since 1971.

Event Details

What is TILT? The name TILT refers to the angle of the sun at the summer solstice, the point where the sun appears to reach its highest point in the sky for the year (the word “solstice” combines the Latin words sol for “sun” and sistere for “to stand still”).

TILT is in memory of Paul Crane Dorfman (1939-2018), a good friend of the cathedral who loved music, culture, houses of worship, fresh ideas, and mentoring young people.

For sponsorship opportunities, contact Michelle Harrison at (415) 749-6391 or visit gracecathedral.org/tilt.

About the Artists

American soprano Leah Crocetto, praised by The New York Times for her “agile coloratura technique” and “full, penetrating sound,” is known for her commanding interpretations of opera’s most iconic heroines. A frequent presence on international stages, Crocetto recently returned to the Metropolitan Opera and Opera Australia as Aida, earning acclaim for her vocal warmth and emotional depth. On the concert stage, Crocetto is a celebrated soloist, and is featured on Deutsche Grammophon’s Grammy-nominated recording of Mahler 8 with Dudamel and the LA Phil. In addition to her operatic and orchestral work, Crocetto released the EP Momenti with pianist Ronny Michael Greenberg in 2023, showcasing genre-defying repertoire that highlights her expressive range. With a voice that blends finesse, depth, and emotional clarity, Leah Crocetto continues to bring authenticity and brilliance to every stage she graces.

Ronny Michael Greenberg is a pianist, producer, and musical visionary whose artistry has illuminated stages from Carnegie Hall to Vienna’s Konzerthaus. As founder and CEO of Taste of Talent, a nonprofit redefining cultural programming through innovative, multi-sensory experiences, he has established himself as a leading figure in the performing arts. Among his producer credits are Opera Aloha, a Pacific concert tour blending opera with Hawaiian musical traditions; TILT, Grace Cathedral’s annual summer solstice concert; the Bay Area’s iconic Halloween concert Death By Aria; Merola Opera Program’s Gala; and special performances at Filoli Historic House & Gardens. As a performer, producer, curator, educator, and artistic partner, Ronny has collaborated with institutions including San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, Festival Napa Valley, Merola Opera Program, Hawai’i Opera Theatre, Hawai’i Performing Arts Festival, Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago, and Music at Kohl Mansion. Through all his work, Ronny is passionate about breaking boundaries of genre and culture, creating spaces for connection, collaboration, and artistic freedom.

Wobbly World is a powerful musical collaboration of internationally recognized artists from around the globe. United by the belief that music is a universal language and a unifying force, the band creates a soundscape where cultural and individual distances dissolve. Each member brings their own language, tradition, and instrument to the table, forming a collective voice that is greater than the sum of its parts. Founded by celebrated guitarist Freddy Clarke, Wobbly World features master musicians from Morocco, Cuba, Vietnam, Venezuela, Iran, the U.S., and beyond. Together, they perform music that is as diverse as their backgrounds—an exuberant fusion of global rhythms, soulful improvisation, and shared humanity. In Wobbly World, music becomes a meeting place. A joyful, high-energy experience that invites us to move, reflect, and celebrate what connects us.

Mad Alchemy is an Analog Liquid Light Show in the great San Francisco tradition from the heyday of the Bay Area’s 60’s Psychedelic Ballrooms. Principal Lance Gordon has been involved and performing this art form since 1971. Based in the Bay Area, Mad Alchemy has traveled wide and far performing over 1,200 shows in every imaginable venue, festival and museum across the US, Canada, Europe and Mexico.
