The Heart of the Matter: Moms Demand Action

On Mother’s Day, meet Celeste Perron and Clare Senchyna of Moms Demand Action. Celeste leads the San Francisco Moms Local Group, and Clare leads their statewide efforts to engage survivors of gun violence and is a gun violence survivor herself. With Grace Cathedral’s Canon Pastor Mary Carter Greene, they will reflect on the fight for preventing gun violence, and engaging survivors of gun violence in that fight. Learn more.
The Heart of the Matter is part of Grace Cathedral’s social justice initiative “Beyond Thoughts and Prayers: Responding Faithfully to Gun Violence.”

About the Speakers
Celeste Perron is a volunteer leader with the San Francisco local group of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. She has been volunteering for Moms Demand Action since 2016 in a variety of roles, and in her current position she helps organize San Francisco volunteers to support gun sense legislation and policy at the federal, state, and local levels, collaborate with local community partners, and share the message of secure gun storage in our community. She works in marketing and communications for a digital health company and lives in San Francisco with her husband and two teenage children.
Clare Senchyna, Camilo’s mother, retired SFDPH Nurse Practitioner, volunteer Everytown/Moms Demand Action Survivor Lead & Senior Fellow. Camilo, my only child, born & raised in SF, was shot and killed in SF while out celebrating his completion of Paramedic School in December of 2014. I retired from the SFDPH and started volunteering with Everytown/Moms Demand Action. I currently reside in Oakland.
