Tenebrae (In-Person and Livestream)
April 13, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Based on a monastic service of vigils, Tenebrae is a simple, powerful service of readings and choral responsories sung by the Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys.
Wednesday of Holy Week is marked by Tenebrae. This ancient choral liturgy follows a rhythm of readings and responsories, drawn from the Lamentations of Jeremiah, sung in haunting tones. Tenebrae, Latin for “darkness,” is prayed as the candles in the cathedral are extinguished one by one.
