Projecting Grace: Human Endeavor for Black History Month

Thursday, February 24 @ 6:30 pm 7:30 pm

You are welcome to stop by for this informal event starting at 6:30 pm. See artwork projected on the cathedral’s façade created by the 6th graders at Cathedral School for Boys. Inspired by the cathedral’s Human Endeavor stained glass window series, which feature Albert Einstein, John Glenn and Thurgood Marshall among others, these young artists have created digital stained glass images of the heroes of today. We celebrate Black History Month with their work honoring President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X, Kamala Harris, Frederick Douglass, Oprah Winfrey, Colin Kaepernick, Lil Nas X and others.

Please note that we reschedule for high humidity due to the sensitivity of the equipment.

Projecting Grace is a monthly projection of images on the façade of Grace Cathedral based around a theme. Some of the work and all of the inspiration is courtesy of Amplifier, an organization that gathers artists to create art that amplifies social justice issues.

The art projected speaks to our values of inclusion and justice for all, and through this project we hope to connect to others, something art can do so beautifully.
