Organ Recital by Jillian Gardner (In-Person and Livestream)

Jillian Gardner is the Director of Music at First United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Alabama.

Did you know that organs were the most complex machines invented before the Industrial Revolution? Our organ recital series features some of the best organists playing one of America’s great organs. Come and experience the first and finest American classic style organs in our gothic cathedral with its unique acoustics, soaring nave, and jewel-like stained glass windows! 

Registration is encouraged, but not required.

The concert will also be livestreamed here and on Facebook.  

Event Details

The cathedral will open for seating at 3:30 pm. The entrance to the cathedral is at the top of the Great Steps. The accessible entrance is via the breezeway on Sacramento Street between Taylor and Jones Streets or via the garage elevator.

About the organist 

Jillian Gardner is an award-winning performing organist with an international touring schedule that spans the United Kingdom, Canada and United States. She is the National Councillor for the American Guild of Organists Young Organists as well as the Director of Music at First United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Alabama. Gardner is a two-time first-prize winner of the Regional Competition for Young Organists. In 2017, she took second prize in the Québec organ competition; she has also been a finalist in the Arthur Poister competition. In recognition of her achievements, The Diapason magazine selected Gardner as one of the “Top 20 under 30” organists in the nation. She is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory and Baylor University and has also been featured on the national radio show Pipedreams.
