Evensong with Prayers for Peace: In-person
Thursday, June 10 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Filled with joyful music, some regard Evensong as one of the most beautiful and prayerful liturgies in the Anglican tradition, especially as celebrated in cathedrals.
We regather Evensong in-person with prayers for peace and healing, in our hearts and homes, and in our world. Livestreaming will pause for the summer, and return during the academic year.
Advance registration is required to attend in person.
Evensong expands the daily Evening Prayer service prayed by Episcopalians and Anglicans all over the world, with music by the cathedral choir. Combining elements from both Evening Prayer and Compline (Night Prayer), Evensong includes chants and anthems by the choir, readings from scripture, hymns sung by the congregation, and prayers for the church, the local community, and the wider world.
During the academic year, our boy choristers sing at Thursday Evensong along with the men of the cathedral choir. When school is not in session, Evensong is sung by the men of the Choir.
