Empathy & Suffering Small Group Book Discussion
August 25 @ 12:45 pm - 2:00 pm
Given the popularity of the David Brooks’ book discussion, “How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen”, we have added two more dates (August 25th and September 22nd) to continue conversation and review how it applies to our personal and congregational life. This book discussion is for anyone seeking meaningful, caring connections. At the next two meetings we will be breaking into small groups, sharing our thoughts and insights with one another in deeper conversations.
On Sunday, August 25, we will discuss Chapters 11 on Empathy and 12 on Suffering, with exercises/activities on becoming more empathic and helping others through their suffering. We will be meeting in the Chapter Room after the 11 Eucharist coffee hour from 12:45 – 2 pm. A light lunch will be provided.
