Grace Cathedral
Choral Evensong with Chorister Alumni Reunion
May 8, 2025 @ 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm
One of the treasures of the Anglican tradition, Choral Evensong is a service of sung Evening Prayer. The service guides us to lay to rest the concerns of the day and prepare for the coming night. It combines music with readings from scripture, ancient and contemporary prayers, and a brief homily or reflection. The music includes psalms, canticles and an anthem, all sung by the choir, with congregational hymns and an organ prelude and postlude.
This evening’s service celebrates the 50th anniversary of weekday Choral Evensong at Grace Cathedral. It coincides with the Chorister Alumni Reunion, and a special invitation is extended to all former Grace Cathedral choristers. Former director of music John Fenstermaker will join the service as a guest conductor.
Event Details
The entrance to the cathedral is at the top of the Great Steps. The accessible entrance is via the glass doors on Taylor Street or from the cathedral garage. Masks are strongly encouraged inside the cathedral.
