Choral Evensong Honoring Retired Clergy of the Diocese of California (In-Person and Livestream)

February 27 @ 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

Join the Rt. Rev. Austin Keith Rios for a festive evensong honoring the retired clergy of the diocese. The Very Rev. Dr. Malcolm Clemens Young, Dean, who celebrates the thirtieth anniversary of his priestly ordination, will preach.

Today we welcome the Choir of St. Paul’s, Burlingame to join together with the Choir of Men and Boys featuring music of Cecilia McDowall, Katherine Webb, and Rosephanye Powell.

Evensong, a jewel in the Anglican liturgical tradition, is traditionally held near sunset focused on singing psalms, canticles, and prayers, ranging from meditative to jubilant. All are warmly welcome to gather in prayer, thanksgiving and celebration.  (45 minutes)

The entrance to the cathedral is at the top of the Great Steps. The accessible entrance is via the glass doors on Taylor Street or from the cathedral garage. Masks are strongly encouraged inside the cathedral.
