Choral Evensong: A Vigil for Peace (In-Person and Livestream)

October 12 @ 5:15 pm - 6:30 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

Join us on the Plaza at Grace Cathedral for a candlelight vigil as we pray for a swift end to violence and war as well as for the safety of the people of Israel and Palestine.

Following this time of reflection, we invite you to join us inside for our regular service of Choral Evensong, featuring the Men and Boys of the Cathedral Choir. The Very Rev. Dr. Malcolm Clemens Young, Dean, will officiate, and The Rev. Canon Anna E. Rossi, Canon Precentor and Director of Interfaith Engagement, will preach.

Evensong is a service traditionally held near sunset focused on singing psalms, canticles, and prayers, ranging from meditative to jubilant. The Grace Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys sings during our Choral Evensong with an officiant. Join us at this mid-week choral service and experience one of the most beautiful liturgies in the Anglican tradition. (45 minutes)

The entrance to the cathedral is at the top of the Great Steps. The accessible entrance is via the glass doors on Taylor Street or from the cathedral garage. Masks are strongly encouraged inside the cathedral.
