Building Grace: An Architectural History (Zoom)

Sunday, October 24 @ 4:00 pm 5:00 pm

Please join Grace Cathedral Trustee Bridget Maley for an illustrated lecture on the history of Grace Cathedral. Bridget will highlight the evolution of Grace from a small, wood-frame church on Powell Street to the concrete, Gothic-inspired building we know today. This is the first of three envisioned lectures, with subsequent talks focusing on the art and stained glass of the cathedral and finally Grace as a cultural leader and influencer.

Bridget is an architectural historian, writer and Principal of a + h, a San Francisco-based architectural history and historic preservation consulting firm. She has participated in award-winning projects throughout the West, including the rehabilitation of the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park and numerous projects in the Presidio of San Francisco. She has served as President of the San Francisco Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board, is a former board member of the Chicago-based Society of Architectural Historians and has been an alumni participant on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia.

Register here to join the Zoom webinar.

Space is limited. The Forum will also be posted on our Youtube channel for viewing following the livestream.
