Even during this time of great challenge, love, peace, hope and the arts live on at Grace. We’re sharing beautiful moments from our archives to remind us of the strength and joy in our community.

Every autumn, we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis by opening our doors to hundreds of special guests – furry, finned or feathered – and honor St. Francis’ love for all beings by blessing the pets of our community. Over the years, we have seen dogs, cats, rats, chickens, ducks, fish, turtles, lizards and even a pig! You can enjoy photo highlights of last years’ Blessing of the Animals here.

In his 2016 Feast of St. Francis sermon, Dean Malcolm Clemens Young reminded us that our pets show us that love and companionship do not belong just to human beings. So, as we all shelter in place, consider that special companion who is sheltering with you and who has always been at your side.
