Celebrate the Feast of St. Francis at Grace Cathedral

Blog|Eva Woo Slavitt

Join us at Grace Cathedral for a heartfelt celebration of the Feast of St. Francis. St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of San Francisco and of animals. So, this day holds a special place in our hearts as we honor our beloved companions who fill our lives with joy and unconditional love. This year, we invite you to pay tribute to your cherished pets, including those who have departed but remain forever in our memories.

Bless this Pet – Tribute Submissions
As we gather in gratitude, we encourage you to submit your pet’s name by October 2. Each tribute will be lovingly featured on our website and included in the program for our Sunday services on October 6. Please join us for this heartfelt opportunity to remember the wagging tails, soft purrs, fluffy feathers, slithery scales, and the countless moments of happiness they brought into our lives.

Service Schedule
All pets are warmly welcomed to join us in the cathedral during our Sunday services at:

  • 8:30 am
  • 11 am
  • 6 pm

After each service, we’ll gather in the plaza for a beautiful blessing of the animals. Imagine the joy of seeing pets of all shapes and sizes, each with their unique personality, as we celebrate the love they give us.

Commemorative Tags and Treats
As a token of appreciation, we’ll hand out commemorative tags and treats for all pets attending. These small gestures symbolize the bond we share and the joy our furry friends bring into our lives.

Let’s unite as a community to honor and bless our beloved pets, celebrating the memories and love they have gifted us. We look forward to seeing you and your cherished companions at this meaningful event. Let’s create a day filled with love, gratitude, and joyful remembrance!
