You are invited to join the Rev. Mark Stanger and other travelers as we walk in the footsteps of Jesus and generations of pilgrims. We will experience together the places of Jesus’ birth, life, ministry, death and resurrection. Our veteran personal local guide, Canon Iyad Qumri, will lead us in encountering several faith traditions, ancient sites, vibrant markets, modern museums, and local communities in a land suspended between East and West, past and present.
We stay close to the local culture in comfortable air-conditioned guest rooms with private baths, eat delicious local cuisine, and travel with experienced local Christian guides who have led Episcopal Church pilgrims through the Holy Land for more than 20 years. Canon Stanger will serve as a spiritual guide, offering prayer, reflection, and interpretation times throughout our journey.
A Personal Look at Holy Land Pilgrimage, by the Rev. Canon Mark Stanger:
Recent pilgrims Alexandra and John Dickerman generously desired to share by video some of the riches of walking the gospel route with Jesus and other seekers. After a very long day and many adventures, one evening in Nazareth, they sat me down, turned on the camera, and said “say something about what we are experiencing.” My throat was parched (very long day!), but my heart and mind were glowing. Hear about some highlights and what they might mean to a pilgrim. So much more might have been included, especially mealtimes, a glimpse at our lodgings, and other unique moments. I am so grateful for this loving record of the heart of our pilgrimage adventure. Come along!
