Grace for All — More than just a slogan

Blog|Grace

This week there are two ways you can get involved and take a stand with Grace for All, our social justice initiative.

On Thursday, join us for Immigration Now: What you need to know, what you need to do, a workshop on immigration where experts deeply immersed in the issues will help us navigate current policies on immigration and discover the concrete ways that we can help people caught up in them. University of San Francisco School of Law Dean John Trasviña, Professor Heidi Ho and the Rev. Deborah Lee of the Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity will discuss the latest developments on immigration and introduce people from the community struggling under the new climate who will share their immigration stories. This important event already has over 160 registrants, but there is still time to secure your spot! Register today

This weekend, on Earth Day, Saturday, March 22, we will be participating in the March for Science, San Francisco, an event celebrating public discovery and understanding of science as crucial to the freedom, success, health and safety of life on this planet. We are joining as a faith community that does not see a conflict between science and faith, and believes that the best available scientific information should be made available to all. We care about truth and the well-being of the world, and see science as making crucial contributions in both these areas. A group led by Executive Pastor Ellen Clark King will meet before the rally and then proceed to the march down Market St. If you are interested in joining us, please email the Office of the Congregation.

Executive Pastor Ellen Clark-King was featured in Science Magazine about the cathedral’s participation in the March for Science. Read the article online.

We launched Grace for All because of our commitment to social justice, something that has been in the fabric of cathedral life since our founding. We are striving to make Grace for All a reality, rather than just a catchy slogan. Stay tuned for more ways you can get involved in our activities to support civil rights, stewardship for the environment and social justice for all people.
